Coronation Street star Sydney Martin has been flooded with messages after giving fans a glimpse of how she celebrated her 25th birthday over the weekend.
The actress, from Rossendale, is best known for playing Betsy Swain in the ITV soap, which is filmed in Salford, having made her debut in the role just over two years ago.
Betsy Swain's Storyline
Corrie fans will recall that Betsy was initially seen as Sabrina Adetiba's mate during the villainous Joel Deering grooming storyline, before it was soon revealed that the teen was the daughter of long-standing character DS Lisa Swain.
While she was quickly involved in the Weatherfield drama, it was earlier this year that Sydney got her biggest storyline to date, as Betsy had a stroke at the age of 18.
Viewers have since been seeing the teen's recovery, having been planning to leave Weatherfield for fashion college, with the soap trying to highlight the profound physical and emotional impact of a stroke at such a young age.
Award Nomination and Birthday Celebrations
Marking her success with the storyline, it was recently revealed that Sydney is among those nominated for the Best Performance gong at the TV Choice Awards 2027, alongside her Corrie co-stars Tina O'Brien (Sarah Platt), Gareth Pierce (Todd Grimshaw), Sue Devaney (Debbie Webster), Jacob Roberts (Kit Green) and Mikey North (Gary Windass).
But away from her role and her recent award nomination, Sydney was seen celebrating on Sunday (October 18) as she marked her 25th birthday. Taking to Instagram, the soap star shared how she spent the special occasion with her friends, having headed to Mother Shipton's Cave, said to be England's oldest tourist attraction in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.
In pictures, Sydney could be seen enjoying the autumnal day in the ancient woodland park where Mother Shipton's Cave, known for its mystical origins, is set. "25 but she's still a fairy princess," she captioned the post before the birthday wishes came flooding in.
