
Former Coronation Street icon Bill Ward has candidly discussed his unexpected departure from the beloved soap and his career journey since leaving the cobbles.
Best known for his role as Charlie Stubbs, the charming yet manipulative builder, Ward's character met a brutal end in 2007 when he was killed by Tracy Barlow. Reflecting on his exit, Ward admitted it was a shock but ultimately the right decision for the storyline.

"I’ve loved the freedom to explore different creative avenues," Ward shared. "Leaving the show opened doors I might not have walked through otherwise."
