Corrie's Antony Cotton Shares Sean Tully Rovers Dream

Coronation Street star Antony Cotton has revealed his hopes for Sean Tully's future on the ITV soap, including a dream role behind the bar of the Rovers Return. Speaking at the 2026 Pride of Britain Awards, the 51-year-old actor shared his ambitions for his long-running character.

Sean Tully's Future at the Rovers

Cotton, who has played Sean since 2003, told Digital Spy: "Eventually, I would love for Sean, even if it's only for a short while, to be the landlord of the Rovers, with his name above the door." He added jokingly: "That would be a real treat, maybe I'm not old enough for that, I still think that I'm 21 in my head!"

Sean first arrived in Weatherfield in 2003 while searching for somewhere to live, eventually finding a home at No.11 with Eileen Grimshaw. After being sacked from a cosmetics firm, he became Underworld's first male machinist and has also worked as a barman at the Rovers Return.

Christmas on the Cobbles and Beyond

Cotton also teased upcoming Christmas scenes, confirming "a thing that happens on Christmas Day" but noting he is not directly involved, appearing in scenes before and after. He confirmed his role will continue into 2027.

The actor added: "I've been lucky enough in my career that I've always done other things. So you know, I'm doing another telly show next week. I've done one that's on over Christmas outside of Corrie. So I've always done other. My work with the armed forces takes up all of my spare time."

Earlier this month, actor Ryan Mulvey, who plays Brody Michaelis, shared a TikTok video giving fans a first look at this year's festive filming. The clips showed snow covering the street, with Alison King (Carla Connor-Swain), David Neilson (Roy Cropper), Sue Devaney (Debbie Webster), Peter Gunn (Brian Packham), Pauline McLynne (Maggie Driscoll), Catherine Tyldesley (Eva Price), Aaron McCusker (Ben Driscoll) and Sally Carman-Duttine (Abi Webster) involved in what appeared to be night filming at the Greater Manchester set.
