Coronation Street actors Sally Carman and Joe Duttine have officially tied the knot. The couple, who play Abi Franklin and Tim Metcalfe on the ITV soap, announced their marriage on social media on Friday with a photograph from their wedding day.
The 40-year-old actress shared a snap on Instagram showing the pair kissing in front of a circle of balloons, holding glasses of champagne. She captioned the image: 'We did.' Carman wore a floor-length light blue gown with long sleeves, while Duttine, 50, dressed in a blue suit with a flat cap and flowers pinned to his lapel.
The couple met on the set of Coronation Street and began dating in 2018. They announced their engagement in summer 2020 after Duttine proposed during a lockdown walk in the Yorkshire Dales. The pair had originally planned to marry at Christmas this year but brought the ceremony forward after postponing earlier plans due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Co-stars and friends have congratulated the couple, including Kimberly Hart-Simpson, who played Nicky Wheatley, and Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria Connor. Carman gave a hint of the upcoming nuptials the day before by sharing a picture of her bridal manicure on Instagram Stories.
