Corrie spoilers: Bethany's pregnancy, Carla's enemy, Sally spooked

Next week on Coronation Street, Bethany Platt's pregnancy is exposed, Sally Metcalfe is spooked by a ghostly figure, Carla Connor-Swain faces questions about her business's future, and Adam Barlow finally pops the question to Alya Nazir.

Bethany's pregnancy revealed

Ryan Connor calls at the flat to find Bethany looking tired and pale. Bethany makes out she's hungover and rushes to the bathroom to be sick. But having spotted the folic acid pills in Bethany's bag, Ryan asks her if she's pregnant.

Coming clean, Bethany tells Ryan that her pregnancy is the result of a one-night stand, and Ryan is supportive and assures her she'll be a great mum. Later, when Bethany admits she's feeling nauseous, Ryan steers her home and makes her something to eat. Bethany's touched, but Ryan assures her he's glad to help.

Sally's ghostly scare

When Lucy Parkinson begs Sally and her husband Tim to let her go to Kayla's Halloween party, she admits that Kayla's parents are away, leaving Sally to tell her it's a definite no. Tim tries to talk a furious Lucy round and assures her that Sally has her best interests at heart.

Instead, Sally and Tim persuade Lucy to accompany Joanie Michaelis to the Rovers' Halloween party. But before they leave, when Joanie reads an article about a riot at her dad's prison, Sally and Tim are forced to play it down.

As Tim, Joanie and Lucy head off to the party, Sally hears a noise outside and sees a ghost at the window. Telling Lisa and Carla Connor-Swain that she's worried it might be Mick Michaelis, as he's escaped before, Lisa reassures Sally. But when the landline rings twice, and there is no answer, Sally is left on edge.

Things get worse when a sudden power cut plunges the whole street into darkness. A ghostly figure appears behind Sally, who grabs a vase and strikes them over the head.

As the week continues, Sally and Tim are surprised when Ruth, the social worker, arrives and says that Lucy called her. Throwing a victorious look at Sally, Lucy heads out. With her gone, Ruth reveals to a horrified Sally and Tim that Lucy's been keeping a journal in which she accuses Sally of being very controlling and saying nasty things behind her back.

Christina's secret uncovered

On Maxine's bench, Lucy confides in Christina Boyd about how she feels and tells her the social worker is speaking to Sally. Lucy returns home fully expecting Sally to be in trouble. Christina tells George Shuttleworth she is worried about Lucy and says she wants to keep her granddaughter safe.

At the end of the week, an upset Christina stares at her keyring, which contains a photo of Lucy's mother, Rachel, and tells George she failed her daughter. Later, in the precinct, she finds Lucy, who shows her some family videos on her phone. Spotting Richie in the background being abusive towards Rachel, a horrified Christina runs away, dropping her keyring.

Back at the undertakers, Lucy rushes in and demands to know why Christina has a photo of her mum in her keyring. Once back at No.11, Christina tells George about the video and how it's clear to her that Richie was abusing Rachel, not the other way round, leaving George shocked.

Tyrone punches Chesney

When Ross Wilkes calls in with flowers and offers to take Dorin and the quads to the park, Fiz Dobbs reluctantly accepts. But later, after Tyrone discovers a bruise on Dorin, who said Aled punched him, Ross goads him into confronting Chesney and Gemma Winter-Brown about Aled's alleged bullying.

Tyrone visits them and tells them Dorin won't be at the quads' party. But when Ross arrives, he purposely ignites a row between Tyrone and Chesney. Tyrone, desperate to prove he isn't a pushover, punches Chesney. While Tyrone is filled with immediate regret, Ross validates the violence.

With the Rovers' Halloween party in full swing, Fiz reminds Tyrone that he owes Chesney an apology. So when Gemma and Chesney arrive at the party, will Tyrone take the opportunity to apologise?

Carla's new enemy

Carla remonstrates with Idris Nazir for parking too close to her car. Idris turns on the charm, but Lisa Connor-Swain senses that her wife doesn't like him. Idris tells Leanne Battersby that, with the Bistro deal off the table, he might focus his sights on buying the factory instead, but Leanne warns him that Carla will never sell up.

In the factory, Carla confides in Lisa that the latest sales figures are terrible. When Lisa points out that they can live off her salary if necessary, Carla's stung. In the Rovers, Idris hears the pair discussing the factory's problems and interrupts, suggesting she rebrand the business. Carla gives him a flea in his ear, and as Idris slinks off, Lisa's left amused.

Adam's engagement

Paula returns to the hotel and apologises to Debbie Webster for her behaviour, but Debbie remains frosty. When Adam Barlow approaches and goes over the details of his marriage proposal plans with Debbie, Paula listens with interest, and afterwards, Paula plays on Debbie's confusion and convinces her that she's staying in room 108. Having forgotten that Adam booked room 108, Debbie hands over the key.

Later, Adam leads Alya into the hotel bedroom, intent on asking her to marry him, only to find the engagement ring missing. In reception, Adam lambasts Debbie for ruining his proposal plans, and Debbie realises with horror that she gave Paula the key to his room.

Wanting to put things right, Debbie meets up with Paula and demands that she hand over the ring. Later, Debbie returns the engagement ring to Adam and Alya. Later at the Rovers' Halloween party, Adam takes out the ring and asks Alya to marry him. As Alya accepts, everyone cheers.
