Corrie Halloween episode airing early baffles viewers

Coronation Street fans have been left confused after the soap aired its Halloween-themed episode on Tuesday October 27, days before the actual holiday, prompting questions about the scheduling decision.

The episode saw Weatherfield residents dressed up for Halloween, with Kirk Sutherland dressed as his dog Peanut and Dev Alahan dressed as David Bowie. The spooky festivities came amid a prison riot at HMP Stoneway, where prisoners rebelled against staff during powercuts.

Sally's Terrifying Ordeal

Sally Metcalfe chose to stay home while Tim took Joanie Michaelis and Lucy Parker to the Rovers for a Halloween night out, as Shanice was feeling unwell. Powercuts left Sally on edge, and after receiving two silent phone calls and spotting a ghostly figure outside her window, she was terrified.

At the end of the episode, the ghost appeared inside her home, and Sally hit them over the head with a vase. It was later revealed that Lucy was hiding underneath the ghost costume.

Viewers Question the Timing

Fans took to social media to express their confusion about the early airing. On X, @stuartbeckmp wrote: "Have I missed something? Why is Coronation Street's Halloween focused episode airing 4 days early". @messasaurusjess added: "Genuinely bothering me so much that they did their Halloween episode on random Tuesday October 27 lmao. Like why? What is the rationale. Why not on Friday, the day before Halloween? Where is the logic".

@bradleycoombes7 agreed: "Coronation street a bit premature with this Halloween lark its only Tuesday". Later this week, Sally and Tim will face an unwelcome visit from social worker Ruth, who has been alerted to the Halloween attack on Lucy Parkinson. Ruth reveals that Lucy has been keeping a journal containing accusations that Sally is controlling and has said cruel things to her.
