Coronation Street fans are fearing the exit of a Weatherfield legend after the killer of Theo Silverton was finally revealed in dramatic scenes. The builder, who had subjected his partner Todd Grimshaw to 13 months of physical and mental abuse, was found dead in April. His lifeless body was discovered by a horrified Betsy Swain on the night of her mother Lisa Swain's wedding to Carla Connor.
Killer Revealed in Dinner Party Flashbacks
In Monday's episode (June 22), the truth emerged during a tense dinner party at Sarah Platt and DC Kit Green's flat. As Maria Windass confronted her husband Gary and Sarah over a suspected affair, flashbacks revealed that Sarah had pushed a drunk Theo off scaffolding outside his flat, causing him to fall to his death. The audience learned that Sarah had called Gary for help after realizing Theo was dead.
The revelation came as a shock, as six potential suspects had been previously named: Todd Grimshaw, George Shuttleworth, Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, Gary Windass, and Danielle Silverton. None of them were the killer.
Fan Reactions and Exit Fears
Fans took to social media to express their worry that Sarah Platt, played by Tina O'Brien, may leave the soap. @TheWelshTopBoy said: "I had a feeling it was gonna be Todd or summer but good on Sarah for killing Theo. The flashbacks showed he was clearly gonna attack Sarah. Hope this doesn’t mean Sarah leaves tho, I think when Kit finds out he will defend/lie for Sarah."
@Lozza479761 commented: "I can’t imagine Tina is leaving Corrie, so either an innocent person will go to prison or something else will happen." @SwarlaEndgame posted: "I am impressed with Corrie making a bold choice by having it be a main character, but I swear if they go to jail I might have to start my own 'free Deirdre' type campaign."
What's Next for Sarah?
The revelation leaves Sarah's future in Weatherfield uncertain. With Kit Green leading the investigation, fans speculate whether he will cover for Sarah or if she will face justice. The show has not confirmed Tina O'Brien's departure, but the storyline has set the stage for a potential exit or a dramatic trial.
