Coronation Street fans were left scratching their heads during Monday's (June 22) episode as they spotted a puzzling change in Theo Silverton's appearance during the flashback revealing his murder. The abuser, who had been tormenting partner Todd Grimshaw for months, was seen with what appeared to be a mustache, sparking confusion among viewers.
Theo Silverton's Death Finally Revealed
Theo was confirmed as the murder victim back in February following a flashforward that showed Betsy Swain discovering a body on the night of her mother Lisa Swain's wedding to Carla Connor. The potential victims included Theo, Carl Webster, Jodie Ramsey, Megan Walsh, or Maggie Driscoll. A week after the wedding aired, it was revealed that Theo was the victim, triggering a murder investigation with suspects including Todd Grimshaw, George Shuttleworth, Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, Gary Windass, and Danielle Silverton.
Monday's episode finally showed viewers what really happened. In a dark flashback, Sarah Platt received a suspicious text from Todd's phone and headed to the flat he shared with Theo. A drunk Theo confronted her on scaffolding, prodding her emotions and bringing up the son she and Todd lost 21 years earlier. As the confrontation turned violent, Sarah defended herself with a metal pipe, striking Theo on the head and sending him crashing to the ground. She then called Gary Windass for help.
Gary's Dilemma and Fan Confusion
Gary was furious but helped Sarah clean up and establish an alibi. He made sure there were no links to Sarah at the murder scene. However, in the present day, Gary stormed out of a dinner party, insisting he could no longer keep the truth from his wife Maria, even if it meant Sarah going to prison. Sarah pleaded with him to stay quiet, but Gary seemed determined to come clean to save his marriage.
