Coronation Street is delivering a whirlwind of drama, from a potential incest twist to Sally Webster's self-defence skills and a shock engagement, according to our resident soap expert.
Ross Wilkes: The Soap's Nastiest Character?
Ross is shaping up to be one of the soap's most villainous figures. The toxic prison guard got involved in Chesney and Tyrone's rift this week, which ended with Chesney getting hit by Tyrone. The expert notes that Fiz is left dealing with a feud between her husband and brother.
Ross also turned his attention to Gary in prison, and spoilers for next week reveal Ross starts to torment Gary, dropping poison in his ear about what wife Maria is up to. The expert suggests it's time someone sorts Ross out, possibly by killing him off. Some fans think Chesney and Fiz's mum Cilla Brown might make a comeback, but the expert seriously thinks Cassie Plummer might return to get back at her vile ex.
Sally's Halloween Horror
Sally Webster, former Weatherfield mayor and proud mum of two, is apparently a fan of self-defence courses. That's what she told the creepy caller who terrorised her while she was alone in her house on Halloween. When the caller, dressed in a ghost costume, got into her home, Sally hit the individual over the head with a vase, not realising it was Lucy Parkinson.
Troubled Lucy, who seemingly murdered her own mother earlier this year, then got the social involved, much to Sally's horror. Fans are predicting this could end with Sally in trouble, with some claiming a prison exit could be on the cards.
Adam and Alya's Engagement
Amid the drama, residents Adam Barlow and Alya Nazir took the next step in their romance by getting engaged. But as the expert notes, weddings rarely go to plan in Corrie, recalling the Eva Price and Aidan Connor wedding that ended in a scrap between Eva and Maria Connor. A fan theory suggests Adam's uncle Peter Barlow might make a return for their special day.
Potential Summer Incest Twist
Summer, who hasn't had it easy this year, found out her beau Marco was sent to prison after acting as a getaway driver while wearing an electronic ankle tag. She visited Marco in prison and vowed to stick by her man. When Marco first arrived in September, a fan theory emerged predicting that Summer and Marco are actually secret siblings, a twist the expert says could be possible.
Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
