Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) is set to uncover a dark piece of evidence about murdered Rachel Parkinson in Coronation Street, after finding a video that appears to show Richie (Nathan Sussex) being abusive to Rachel.
Rachel was apparently killed by her husband Richie earlier this year. Their daughter Lucy (Anya Dewin) moved in with Sally and Tim Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor and Joe Duttine) and struggled to settle into their home. It is clear that Lucy and Richie have not been entirely honest about Rachel's final moments, and it has now been revealed that Christina is Rachel's biological mother.
Christina's concern grows
Christina has kept her distance from Lucy, with Sally previously telling her that the young woman is too vulnerable to process who she really is. The temptation to cross that boundary increases for Christina in the rest of this week's episodes, as she uncovers a worrying piece of information.
In Thursday, October 29's episode, Christina expresses her concern about Lucy in a chat with George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley). Determined to look after her granddaughter, Christina finds Lucy later in the week looking at old family videos.
Sally's terrifying ordeal
In Tuesday, October 27's episode, home alone, Sally's paranoia that Mick Michaelis has escaped prison after a riot begins to grow. Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) visits Sally and tries to reassure her, but that does not stop her mind from going into overdrive.
With a mysterious ghost spooking Sally outside, and someone prank calling her, things get worse when a power cut plunges Weatherfield into darkness. When the light comes back on, Sally is terrified to see a ghostly figure standing in front of her. In an attempt to defend herself, she smacks the person over the head, but then discovers it is actually Lucy. Amid the drama, Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) proposes to Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) and she says yes.
The discovery and its aftermath
When Christina takes a look at the videos, she is troubled to see Richie in the background of one, clearly being abusive to Rachel. Christina rushes off, but drops her keyring of Rachel in the process. At the funeral parlour, Lucy arrives and asks Christina why she has a picture of her mum in a keyring. The episode leaves viewers wondering what Christina will say and what she will do with the discovery about Richie and Rachel.
