Kaia Gerber and her mother, supermodel Cindy Crawford, turned heads with coordinated denim outfits at the Re/Done x Kaia Gerber Short/Cuts launch event in Los Angeles on May 20. The 24-year-old model wore light-wash slouchy jeans paired with a white cropped, backless long-sleeve sweater, nude slingback heels, and black sunglasses. Her hair was styled in soft waves, with a natural makeup look featuring a smoky eye and pink lip.
Cindy, 58, complemented her daughter in a double-denim ensemble consisting of a plunging denim shirt and straight-leg jeans. Her caramel-hued hair was styled in a bombshell blowout, with glam makeup including a bronze eye and nude lip. The mother-daughter duo showcased their signature style at the event, which celebrated Kaia's role as an investor and creative partner with the Los Angeles-based denim brand.
Kaia joined Re/Done earlier this year, serving on its advisory board and contributing to brand strategy. In a statement, she said: 'I’ve loved being part of [Re/Done’s] journey, and I’m excited to help shape what comes next – creating products and stories that feel personal, intentional and deeply connected to today’s generation.' She previously introduced her mother to the brand before Cindy's 2017 capsule collection.
Kaia has followed in her mother's modelling footsteps while also pursuing acting. She is set to star in the television adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis's novel The Shards, premiering in August. Reflecting on her mother's influence, Kaia told Vogue: 'I didn't understand why she was always having her photo taken... I saw how hard my mom worked, and the life that she made for herself through this career, and that really inspired me.' She added that Cindy is not an advice giver, but she learns through watching her actions.
