The Celebrity Traitors is heading into its semi-final with reports of a “sensational” bombshell that has “never been seen” on the show before, just one day ahead of Friday’s finale.
At the start of Thursday night’s episode on October 29, nine celebrities remained in the game, including three Traitors – James Acaster, Maya Jama and King Kenny – who had been voted the game’s most trusted players in the previous episode.
The Faithful still in the competition were James Blunt, Sebastian Croft, Joanne McNally, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Michael Sheen, Romesh Ranganathan and Sharon Rooney. The previous episode ended on a cliffhanger, with the remaining players voting on whether to banish comedian McNally or Barbie star Rooney.
Twist that could change the series
Ahead of Friday night’s finale, reports suggest that tonight’s episode features a twist that could change the course of the series altogether.
A source told The Sun: “Just when you think you know exactly how the series will play out, there's another sensational turn of events. It's one which no one is likely to see coming – the producers of the show certainly didn't predict it.”
The insider continued: “The likes of this has never been seen on the show before and may never be seen again. It all adds up to make the semi-final an absolutely unmissable episode and the perfect lead into the finale on Friday.”
Traitors undetected so far
While Traitor Richard E Grant was banished from the competition after publicly admitting to being a Traitor, and a recruited Traitor followed not far behind him, the trio of original Traitor Jama and recruits Acaster and Kenny have gone largely undetected in the game so far.
After being voted the most trusted players in the castle, Jama joked that they had already “completed the game”, leading some fans to speculate that the comment could foreshadow the Traitors’ downfall.
Previous series have shown that big twists can arrive late in the game. In series three of The Traitors, Francesca was given the power to learn the identity of one of the other finalists, which led to her discovering that Charlotte was a Traitor.
