Presenter Ben Fogle has shared a resurfaced photograph alongside Prince William, and royal fans have noted an uncanny resemblance between the two. The adventurer posted the sun-drenched throwback on Instagram to his 700,000 followers, revealing he was constantly mistaken for the future King during his travels.
Throwback to Botswana Trip
The photograph dates back to 2010 during a trip to Botswana, where Ben and the Prince of Wales teamed up to film the documentary Prince William's Africa, highlighting the royal's passion for conservation. Prince Harry was also part of the African expedition.
In his caption, tagging wildlife charity Tusk, Ben said: “I love looking back on chapters of my life. This is a throwback to when I travelled across Botswana with Prince William for @tusk_org. It was a fascinating journey and a privilege to spend time with the future King, while he shared his passion for conservation. Something we are both passionate about.”
Mistaken Identity
Touching on their doppelgänger status, the presenter added: “When I was younger, I was often mistaken for Prince William. People used to stop me all the time and ask where my security were?”
He went on to describe camping under the stars in the Okavango Delta with Prince William and Prince Harry as one of his “most memorable nights”. The presenter revealed they made a “beautiful film” together, and the journey culminated in him running the Lewa marathon for Tusk, signing off with: “Happy days…..”
