Celebrity Traitors fans demand fewer comedians next series

Fans of The Celebrity Traitors have already begun calling for a change to the line-up should the BBC reality show return for a third series, with many saying the 2026 cast was "ruined" by the number of comedians.

Comedian Romesh Ranganathan and actor Sebastian "Bash" Croft were crowned winners of the 2026 series as Faithfuls on Friday, October 30. The pair were the final two standing at the firepit when the show concluded, after contestants eliminated Traitor and TV presenter Maya Jama during the final roundtable, with her fellow Traitor, social media star King Kenny, having sealed her elimination.

Winners Reflect on the Finale

As they disclosed their identities, Sebastian told Romesh: "I began this game as a Faithful, but I'm ending this game as a Faithful." Ranganathan responded: "Bash, I began this game as a Faithful, and I'm ending this game as a Faithful."

The duo then celebrated and hugged while shouting "oh my God". In an emotional aside, Sebastian remarked: "That was just incredible, this might actually be the best day of my life." Romesh continued: "I just really hope my mum's proud, and also my youngest son Charlie, who wanted me to come on the show. Dad won, please show me some respect."

Fans Split Over Comedian-Heavy Cast

Romesh was among six comedians featured in the 21-strong celebrity cast alongside Miranda Hart, James Acaster, Joe Lycett, Joanne McNally and Rob Beckett. The BBC has yet to announce whether The Celebrity Traitors will commission another series, but fans have already begun outlining their demands for the potential third series line-up.

Writing on X, formerly Twitter, one viewer posted: "No more comedians next year. They can't be trusted #CelebrityTraitors." Another commented: "This series has been ruined by the comedians." A third viewer remarked: "Next year we need more variety in contestants, not just actors and comedians." A fourth concurred: "The next series needs FAR less comedians."

Some Viewers Praised the Cast

Yet others were delighted with the second series' line-up, with one viewer posting: "@BBC I believe the #CelebrityTraitors cast was just as great as S1. Its just that the Faithfuls got rid of the greatest cast members early." A second person concurred: "I have loved the cast of #CelebrityTraitors this year."

The Celebrity Traitors is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
