ITV presenter Cat Deeley is celebrating a milestone birthday this week, turning 50 on Friday, October 23. The This Morning host marked the occasion during today's episode (October 22), which featured special celebrations with co-host Ben Shephard and a heartfelt video message from Ant and Dec.
Deeley joined the This Morning team in 2024 alongside Shephard, taking over from Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. While the pair's arrival initially divided fans, they have since become firm favourites on the ITV morning show.
Birthday celebrations on air
At the start of today's show, Shephard announced: "It's almost Cat Deeley's 50th birthday everybody, a big round of applause." With a happy birthday song playing in the background, Deeley replied: "I feel a bit of a fake and a phoney. It's not really today, it's tomorrow."
Shephard explained that the pair would not be on tomorrow's episode, adding: "But we're not here tomorrow, we can't celebrate it with you altogether tomorrow and of course, the crew were desperate to celebrate with you."
Deeley admitted she had received a "lovely card" from her work crew and shared her upcoming birthday plans. Stating she felt "very good", she said: "Tonight I'm going to the theatre because it's Jesse Tyler Ferguson's birthday, actually and all his family are over. So I'm going to see True and then take him out for his birthday."
She added: "Boys, family. We're actually doing steak loader so yes, yes, yes. We're going to do dinner there and then girls' trip to Ibiza just for a few days."
Message from Ant and Dec
On screen, a message from Ant and Dec was played, in which they said: "Cat the dog. Have the happiest, loveliest birthday. Sending you lots and lots of love from us too. Miss you lots, love you." Shephard joked: "If you don't know what Cat the Dog is, I don't know where you were..."
Career and family life
Deeley has been a familiar face on television for over two decades, hosting shows in both the US and UK, including Stars in Their Eyes and So You Think You Can Dance. One of her earlier appearances included a comedy sketch in the 1990s and 2000s on a Saturday morning children's TV show alongside Ant and Dec, where she would dress as a dog.
In 2006, Deeley moved to America with her family before returning to the UK in 2020. Four years later, she landed her role on This Morning. She was married to TV presenter Patrick Kielty, with whom she shares two sons, but they announced their separation in 2025. This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV and ITVX.
