Castle Byers Could Return In Stranger Things Finale

Fans believe that Castle Byers, Will Byers' secret fortress from the early seasons of Stranger Things, may make a dramatic return in the upcoming fifth and final season. The makeshift fort, built by Will and his brother Jonathan in the woods near their home, was a sanctuary filled with pillows, quilts, and Will's drawings. It was destroyed by Will in season three as he struggled to let go of his childhood.

However, with the Upside Down preserving a version of the fort frozen in time, fan website Netflix Junkie suggests it could hold clues to defeating Vecna. According to the site, 'Castle Byers holds more than childhood memories; it preserves Will's drawings, books, and clues that could reveal Vecna's weaknesses.' This echoes how Vecna's own family home in the Upside Down contains key memories.

Last year, actor Noah Schnapp, who plays Will, appeared in a since-removed video discussing filming at the location. He said: 'It's kind of sentimental because I started in this exact tent when I was 10 years old, and now, 10 years later, I'm turning 20. So, it's sad to say goodbye.'

With Will's powers reportedly awakening in season five, forgotten items within Castle Byers may explain his abilities and how he can help Eleven defeat Vecna. The finale is expected to air later this year.
