Callum Scott Howells narrates Cruising Paradise

E4's latest documentary series, Cruising Paradise: Above and Below Deck, offers a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of cruise ship employees. The ten-part show premiered on July 30, airing weekly on Thursdays at 9pm.

What Is the Series About?

The first episode takes place aboard the Star Princess, introducing viewers to the crew working on Princess Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises ships. The series captures the challenges and rewards of working at sea, from demanding shifts and homesickness to camaraderie and adventures in exotic ports.

According to E4's synopsis, the show covers "the highs and lows of working life at sea" and the "fun, friendships and romance" that develop during a season onboard. Genna Gibson, Commissioning Editor at Channel 4, said: "A cruise ship is like a floating city where nobody gets to nip home after work, so every day brings new friendships, fresh drama and unforgettable characters. Above deck, passengers are making memories. Below deck, an incredible crew is making it all happen."
