BBC's The Uniform: Crime Drama for Line of Duty Fans

The BBC is set to air an 'explosive' crime series that is sure to appeal to fans of Line of Duty and Broadchurch. The six-part Danish drama, titled The Uniform, delves into 'the deadly cost of loyalty and corruption within a fractured and fiercely competitive police academy in contemporary Denmark'.

Cast and Reception

Starring Lene Maria Christensen from The Excavation, the series was a massive hit when it aired in Denmark earlier this year. The BBC has now acquired it for BBC iPlayer and BBC Four. A synopsis reveals: 'A young trainee fires his weapon. One man is dead. And inside Denmark's police academy, the fallout is immediate and explosive. As the story makes headlines, public outrage and political pressure ignite a war over who controls the future of policing.'

Plot Details

Caught in the eye of the storm is Youssef, played by Soheil Bavi, a rising star whose dream of becoming an officer is shattered by the shooting. With the academy in lockdown and blame spreading like wildfire, his bond with fellow trainee Daniel (Marco Ilsø) fractures under suspicion, while his growing connection with first-year Freja (Clara Rosager) threatens to expose deeper secrets. Above it all is Sanne Hammerby (Lene Maria Christensen), the academy's new principal, brought in to clean house. But when old loyalties clash with new ideals, her mission to reform the institution turns into a quest for the truth.
