BBC Greenlights Third Season of Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash's Reality Series
The BBC has officially renewed the popular fly-on-the-wall television series starring Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash for a third season. This decision marks a significant milestone for the couple, who have successfully built a family brand through their reality show, Stacey & Joe. The series, which has already completed two successful seasons, will continue to document the daily lives of the blended family at their countryside home, Pickle Cottage.
Focus on Family Life and New Ventures
The upcoming season is expected to delve into Joe Swash's ambitious project to construct a fishing lake at their lavish property, a topic that has been discussed since the first series. Additionally, the show will follow the couple's six children: Rex, six, Rose, four, and Belle, three, who are their shared children, along with Stacey's older sons Zachary, 18, and Leighton, 13, from previous relationships, and Joe's son Harry, born in 2007. The previous season featured memorable moments such as Belle's first day at nursery, Zach's 17th birthday celebration, and family skiing lessons.
In a statement to the BBC, Stacey and Joe expressed their excitement, saying, 'If you watched the first series, you'll know we've been talking about the lakes for ages… it feels a bit surreal to finally see it coming to life. With the juggle of family life thrown in, we're learning as we go, so we'll be just as surprised as everyone else to see how it all unfolds!' They also thanked fans for their support, adding, 'A huge thank you to everyone who has watched Stacey & Joe so far. We're so grateful and can't wait for you to see this next series.'
Controversy and Personal Details
The renewal comes amid ongoing speculation about the couple's marriage. Stacey Solomon recently defended their relationship after being spotted without her wedding ring, sparking rumours. It has been revealed that their wedding ceremony at Pickle Cottage in July 2022 was not legally binding, as they have yet to register their marriage officially. A source explained, 'They always intended to do the legal part, but with six kids and busy diaries just haven't got round to it, life has got in the way.' Stacey and Joe were upfront about the informal nature of their wedding, which they chose to keep private without televising or selling images, instead encouraging donations to the charity Grief Encounter.
This revelation may surprise fans who have invested in the couple's portrayed perfect family life, especially given Stacey's lucrative fashion collaborations with retailers like Asda and Primark. An insider noted, 'It will certainly raise eyebrows with firms and even TV execs that they've invested in a perfect picture that's all a sham.' Despite this, the BBC's commitment to a third season underscores the show's popularity and the enduring appeal of Stacey and Joe's family dynamics.
