BBC Breakfast presenter Charlie Stayt was left red-faced after accidentally mixing up the names of actor Ralf Little and weatherman Matt Taylor during Friday's episode.
While introducing the weather segment, Stayt mistakenly said, “Ralf, thank you very much,” before quickly realising his error. He then apologised, explaining that the confusion arose because Little was in the studio for an interview.
Little, best known for his role in Death In Paradise, was appearing on the show to discuss his new lead role in the touring production of John le Carré’s The Spy Who Came In from the Cold. Co-host Naga Munchetty admitted the situation was “quite unusual” and “confusing.”
Little joked, “It’s confused everyone. It confuses me. We’re all confused.” Stayt then clarified, “Let's clear it up, you’re here,” to which Little replied, “And Matt is there.”
The play, which marks the first stage adaptation of a le Carré novel, began its UK tour on 12 March at Curve, Leicester, and will visit 21 venues across the country.
