The upcoming Baywatch reboot has offered a first look at its cast stepping out of the waves and onto the beach in their iconic red swimsuits and trunks.
Brooks Nader, a 29-year-old model, channelled show legend Pamela Anderson as she walked on the sand in a plunging red swimsuit. She appeared alongside shirtless co-star Noah Beck, as well as Thaddeus LaGrone, Jessica Belkin, Stephen Amell, Hassie Harrison, Shay Mitchell, and Livvy Dunne.
Brooks Nader on her character Selene
Brooks is set to play Selene in the revived series, which is due to air on Fox in January. She told Entertainment Tonight: "My character is Selene and she’s basically me — she’s very sassy — and she is a total boss."
She added: "Everyone grew up on Baywatch and it’s such an iconic series, so I’m so honoured to be a part of it."
However, Brooks confessed that she didn't know how to swim before landing the role and has been learning to do so. She told TMZ: "I’m having acting lessons, I’m going to surprise everyone, and swimming lessons every day. I have the hardest swim trainer ever."
Original series and reboot details
The original Baywatch aired from 1989 to 2001 and followed lifeguards carrying out beach rescues and dealing with romantic drama. At one point, it was the most-watched TV series in the world, with an estimated weekly audience of over 1.1 billion viewers in 1996.
The reboot's official synopsis reads: "Fans can expect all the adrenaline-fueled rescues, tangled relationships, complicated chemistry and beachside heroics that defined the original - now with an entirely new cast, contemporary trappings, tensions and challenges, and a renewed mission to protect Southern California's shoreline."
