Jessica Chastain has confirmed that her Apple TV thriller The Savant will still be released, following its postponement last year. The series, which follows an undercover investigator infiltrating online hate groups to stop domestic extremists, was originally scheduled for September 2024 but was delayed without a new date.
Speaking to Variety, Chastain said: 'Before it was like, “I don’t know if we’re going to see it,” but now I can say, “We’re going to see it.”' Sources suggest the show may premiere in July 2025, though Apple TV has not confirmed this.
In September 2024, Apple TV cited 'careful consideration' for the delay. Deadline reported the postponement was linked to the show's subject matter, which Chastain criticised, stating she and Apple were not 'aligned' on the decision.
Chastain previously told Radio Times the series made her feel 'hopeful' despite its relevance, adding: 'I hate that this show is relevant... but maybe through this conversation we're going to work together to fix it.'
