Andrew Cushin to Make History with Fifth Newcastle City Hall Headline Show
Andrew Cushin Set for Fifth Newcastle City Hall Gig

Andrew Cushin, the rising Geordie singer-songwriter backed by music icons Noel Gallagher and Pete Doherty, is set to make history once again. He has announced a major homecoming gig at Newcastle City Hall in December, following another busy summer of performances.

Historic Achievement

This upcoming date will see Cushin become the first North East male solo artist to perform at the iconic venue five times. The milestone comes nearly three years after his first sold-out show there in 2023, when he became the youngest Geordie artist to sell out the venue.

Cushin expressed his excitement: "Every time I come home and play Newcastle it means something completely different. City Hall has become a huge part of my journey and I don't take that for granted. To be coming back for a fifth headline show after everything that's happened over the last few years feels really special. Newcastle backed me early and I always feel that when I step out on stage there."

Rising Stardom

Cushin has evolved from playing local venues to becoming one of the UK's most talked-about young songwriters. He has earned backing from Noel Gallagher, Pete Doherty, Sam Fender, and Louis Tomlinson while building a growing audience across the UK, Europe, and North America. Gallagher, who collaborated with Cushin on the track "Where's My Family Gone," has served as a mentor, offering advice to "graft."

Following a successful support tour with Louis Tomlinson in the United States, Cushin has now embarked on his own American tour. He previously shared how the experience with the former One Direction star spurred him on. Tomlinson reached out after seeing Cushin perform on Sky One's Soccer AM, messaging him during an ad break to compliment his performance. "He then followed me on X, and because his fans are so passionate, I got bombarded with fan pages and messages. It was class," Cushin recalled.

New Single and Album Success

Cushin's brand-new single, titled "Goodbye," follows the success of his second album Love Is For Everyone, which secured his first UK Top 40 album. The track was written and recorded across sessions in Newcastle, The Bahamas, and Wigan, capturing the bigger, more expansive direction Cushin has become known for.

Speaking about the song, he said: "It's one of those songs that changed a lot from the original idea through to the finished version. And I think that's what makes it exciting. It feels big, direct and honest - and I can't wait for people to hear it properly and experience it live."

"Goodbye" is out now, and tickets are on sale for December's hometown return. For more showbiz news, follow Mirror Celebs on social media platforms.
