Andi Peters suffered an awkward live television moment on Thursday morning's episode of Good Morning Britain when he completely forgot the name of his co-host, Adil Ray. The ITV star was broadcasting from the Tower of London for a competition segment, urging viewers to participate for a cash prize. As he wrapped up his spiel, he attempted to toss the show back to the studio presenters but stumbled over his words.
The Moment of Forgetfulness
Peters said, 'I'm off to St Paul's Cathedral now. Ranvir and…' before hesitating, unable to recall who was anchoring alongside Ranvir Singh. As Ranvir tried to help by saying 'Adil,' Peters asked aloud, 'Who's on the show today?' Adil Ray, sitting in the studio, responded with an incredulous 'What?' while raising his hands in exasperation and shaking his head. Peters quickly apologized, explaining he hadn't slept the night before and was feeling a 'fog' in his head.
Adil Ray's Joking Response
Adil lightened the mood by quipping, 'It's fine John, it's absolutely fine John, no worries John,' prompting Peters to laugh and retort, 'Exactly, it's absolutely fine, Michael Underwood.' The two presenters then shared a chuckle, with Adil seemingly forgiving the gaffe as Peters moved on to St Paul's Cathedral for another check-in.
GMB's History of Live TV Chaos
This incident is just one of many unpredictable moments on Good Morning Britain. Last week, the children's character Mr Blobby caused chaos on set, leading host Kate Garraway to topple out of her chair as the auction segment went awry. Earlier this month, the show faced backlash after an expletive appeared on screen inadvertently due to a sign at a music festival. An ITV spokesperson apologized, stating, 'We apologise to any viewers offended by the accidental appearance of the expletive, which was featured in concert footage.'
Good Morning Britain airs every weekday morning on ITV from 6am.
