Netflix's smash-hit documentary series about the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is returning for a third season in just a few days. The show, titled America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, chronicles the epic highs and devastating lows of cheering for the biggest team in the NFL.
What to Expect in Season 3
The gripping new season follows the squad during the 2025-26 season as newcomers audition for just six open spots alongside 30 returning veterans. A description from Netflix teases: 'As the DCC's global profile grows, the women at the centre must navigate a new level of attention, mounting pressure, and balancing viral visibility with the pursuit of perfection.' The squad must also learn to balance the demands of the job with their difficult personal lives and rapid rise to fame as millions of both football fans and Netflix viewers put them under heightened scrutiny.
Who Will Feature in America's Sweethearts Season 3?
The cheerleading squad will once again be under the tutelage of senior director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell, who are both back for season three. As for the cheerleaders themselves, the exact lineup has not been revealed but will feature several returning veterans from previous seasons. Plus, expect to be introduced to several determined newcomers who are all vying for one of the coveted six open spots. Returning cheerleaders include rookie Jenna Waller, who was cut from the second season, and veterans Madie Krueger, Charly Barby, Kelly Villares, Abby Summers, Reece Weaver, and Megan McElaney. Veterans Armani Latimer, Jada Mclean, Amanda Howard, and Chandi Dayle will not be returning after they announced their retirement in season two.
What Happened in Season 2?
The previous season chronicled the squad's 2024-25 season, which was rife with intense rows, gruelling training, and a fierce fight for pay equity. There were also some major controversies, including group leader Chandi Dayle stepping down from her leadership role after violating protocol by taking an unknown person back to her room during a team trip to the Bahamas. Fourth-year veteran KayDianna Garza took over during Chandi's leave of absence, but she was quickly caught up in her own scandal and investigated for bullying after discussing the Bahamas furore on TikTok Live. She ultimately decided to quit the squad of her own accord. Season two wasn't just back-to-back controversy, though, as fans were inspired by fan-favourite Armani's performance without her wig, bravely revealing her alopecia diagnosis to the world. Armani was also central to DCC's groundbreaking pay negotiations which secured the team a sizable salary increase.
