Alison Hammond to Return to TV Hours After This Morning Panic Attack
Alison Hammond Returns to TV After Panic Attack

Alison Hammond will return to television screens tonight, just hours after being rushed off-air from This Morning and confirming she had suffered a panic attack during the live show on Friday.

The presenter was seen clutching her chest as she sat beside co-host Dermot O’Leary and This Morning regular Dr Scott. During a phone-in segment in which Dr Scott answered viewers’ questions about their pets, Dermot helped Alison off the set.

Health Update From Hospital

After sparking concern, Alison later shared an update with viewers from hospital, saying she was getting her heart checked out. She then confirmed that she had been given the all-clear and that she had suffered a panic attack on live TV.

She said she was "all OK, all-clear, which would mean I had a massive panic attack on live TV. I mean, the shame of it." She added: "It felt very real to me. I'm really new to panic attacks, so I need to learn more about it."

Alison thanked the NHS staff and her colleagues at This Morning, before adding: "I didn't necessarily want to be on the news or anything like that but this is a new world to me." She told her followers: "I'm going to take stock, take some rest and I'll see you soon," reports the Mirror.

Return to Bake Off

While the former Big Brother star usually presents This Morning on Fridays with Dermot, she is now set to return to screens tonight, Tuesday, October 6. The TV legend will be continuing her role as host of The Great British Bake Off alongside Noel Fielding, with judges Paul Hollywood and Nigella Lawson, who replaced Dame Prue Leith this series.

Alison has been hosting Bake Off since 2023, after replacing Matt Lucas. She also recently stepped into Paul O’Grady’s shoes as host of For The Love of Dogs.

Career Aspirations

In a previous interview with Stylist, the This Morning host spoke about her career dreams: "I love my job and I’m good at it. But I’ve always got plans, things I want to do next." She continued: "I can’t tell you how many times I’ve asked for my own show. That’s what I want, a show called Alison. It might get to the point where I just make it myself."

The Great British Bake Off continues tonight at 8pm on Channel 4.
