Oldham woman charged after 49 dogs seized from home

A woman has been charged after 49 dogs were seized from a home in Oldham. Dorota Jagielska, 41, of Striding Edge Walk, is accused of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal and failing in the duty of a person responsible for animals to ensure welfare.

Investigation and charges

Greater Manchester Police launched an investigation after officers uncovered the dogs at the property. Jagielska has been charged with offences under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 in connection with the discovery.

She is due to appear at Tameside Magistrates' Court today (October 6). In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "#CHARGED | A woman is due to appear in court charged with offences under the Animal Welfare Act 2006.

Court appearance

Dorota Jagielska, (13/07/1985) of Striding Edge Walk, Oldham, has been charged with causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal and failing in the duty of a person responsible for animals to ensure welfare.

She will appear at Tameside Magistrates Court today (06/10/2026). The charges have been made in connection with an investigation which has seen officers seize 49 dogs from a home in Oldham.
