Series regular Noah B. Taylor, who played werewolf Bruno Yuson on the hit Netflix show Wednesday, will not return for the third season. Taylor’s character was seen leaving Nevermore Academy after it was revealed he had been cheating on his girlfriend Enid Sinclair, played by Emma Myers.
This marks the second time a romantic interest has exited after a single season. Percy Hynes White, who played Xavier Thorpe, was dropped ahead of season two following sexual assault misconduct allegations.
Production on season three has begun in Dublin, with Tim Burton returning as director and executive producer. Showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar said in a statement: “It’s our dark delight to fling open Nevermore Academy’s gates once more… This season, we welcome new students, new teachers, and excavate some long-rotting Addams Family secrets.”
Winona Ryder will join the cast as a recurring guest star, reuniting with frequent collaborator Burton and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice co-star Jenna Ortega. Also joining are Chris Sarandon, Oscar Morgan, Kennedy Moyer, and a second actor named Noah Taylor.
Previously announced Eva Green will play the long-lost sister of Catherine Zeta-Jones’s Morticia Addams. Joanna Lumley, who plays Wednesday’s grandmother Granmama Hester Frump, has been promoted to series regular.
Returning cast members include Ortega, Myers, Jones, Luis Guzmán, Hunter Doohan, Billie Piper, Joy Sunday, and Fred Armisen. Burton commented: “I’m so excited to be back for season three… The addition of some dear friends and past collaborators makes this season extra special.”
