Little Disasters Finale Airs Tonight
Channel 5 is airing the sixth and final episode of Little Disasters on Tuesday, June 23, at 9pm. The series, which originally debuted on Paramount Plus in 2025, follows seemingly perfect stay-at-home mum Jess who brings in her 10-month-old daughter with a suspicious head injury. Her friend and on-duty paediatrician Liz, played by Jo Joyner, begins asking questions, spiralling into a legal and ethically questionable thriller.
Riptide Confirmed as Replacement
Channel 5 has confirmed that Riptide, a four-part Australian psychological thriller, will replace Little Disasters starting Monday, June 29. The drama will air over four consecutive days. Riptide first aired in 2022 and is now being rebroadcast for viewers who missed it.
The series stars Jo Joyner as Alison, who moves to Australia with her older, wealthier husband Sean (Peter O'Brien). When Sean vanishes after a morning surf, police presume he drowned in a riptide, but Alison suspects something more sinister. The synopsis notes: "With her stepson Ethan, ex-husband Michael, Sean's ex-wife Rachel, and her daughter Hannah's friend Logan all keeping secrets, her instincts might turn out to be right."
Cast and Reception
Jo Joyner, known for EastEnders and Ackley Bridge, leads the cast. She is joined by Outlander actor Dave Berry, Neighbours stars Peter O'Brien and Scott Major, The Tudors' Max Brown, and Looking for Alibrandi's Pia Miranda. After its initial 2022 airing, one fan on IMDb described it as "the perfect show to curl up with." Another viewer said: "I enjoy short run series and this is a good example of one done well." A third added: "We really enjoyed the cat and mouse style thriller that this turned into. It is definitely worth a watch."
Little Disasters is available to watch on Channel 5.
