Scooby Doo: Origins Netflix cast: Where you've seen them before

Netflix is bringing Scooby Doo back to the screen with a new live-action series, Scooby Doo: Origins, which will offer a fresh origin story for Mystery Inc. The official synopsis reveals that the action takes place during a final summer at Camp Ruby-Spears, where Shaggy and Daphne become involved in a haunting mystery concerning a lost Great Dane puppy.

The cast will feature Tanner Hagen as Shaggy Rogers. The 21-year-old has previously appeared in an episode of HBO's The Pitt, which arrives in the UK on 26 March, as well as Lawmen: Bass Reeves and the film Most Likely.

McKenna Grace, 19, takes on the role of Daphne Blake. She has starred in the latest Scream film, the Ghostbusters films, The Handmaid's Tale and Five Nights at Freddy's 2, and is due to appear in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Grace previously voiced a younger Daphne in the animated film Scoob!.

Fred Jones will be played by Maxwell Jenkins, 20, who has appeared in Netflix's Sense8 and Lost in Space, Prime Video's The Bondsman, and as a younger Jack Reacher in the Reacher series. Velma Dinkley will be portrayed by Abby Ryder Fortson, known for her role in Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. and as a young Cassie Lang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A release date for Scooby Doo: Origins has yet to be confirmed.
