Netflix's 'The Law According to Lidia Poet' Ends with Emotional Finale, Fans Demand More

Netflix's Italian-language period drama 'The Law According to Lidia Poet' has concluded with its third and final season, leaving fans both satisfied and wanting more. The show, which follows the story of Lidia Poet, Italy's first female lawyer, aired its last six episodes last month to widespread praise.

The final season sees Lidia's appeal to practice law reach the court, but she becomes entangled in personal drama when her best friend Grazia is arrested for murdering her abusive husband. The return of former lover Jacopo Barberis with his new love interest adds further complexity.

Fans took to social media to express their enjoyment, with one calling it a 'satisfying ending' while lamenting it was the final season. Another viewer said, 'I've just finished it and enjoyed it immensely. It's one of the very few programmes I've ever watched twice and loved just as much the second time.'

However, not all reviews were unanimous. Ruchika Bhat of Digital Mafia Talkies noted that Season 3 'tonally felt the most wavering,' suggesting it shifted focus from Lidia as an advocate to her personal life. Despite this, many fans praised the show's costumes and performances.

The series stars Matilda De Angelis, who earned a Best Actress nomination at the Nastri d'Argento Grandi Serie for her role. The cast also includes Eduardo Scarpetta, Pier Luigi Pasino, Sinéad Thornhill, Sara Lazzaro, Gianmarco Saurino, Alessia Spinelli, and Valentina Cervi.
