A flawed enamel pendant bought for just £38 on BBC's Bargain Hunt has stunned viewers after selling for £120, securing a profit of £82 for the red team.
The episode, filmed in Staffordshire, featured married couple Irfan and Agnes representing the red team, guided by expert Izzie Balmer. Despite a chip in the enamel, auctioneer James Lewis valued the Arts and Crafts 1907 piece by Gourdel Vales and Co between £80 and £120, and was surprised to learn it cost only £38.
The pendant ultimately fetched £120, making the red team champions with a total profit of £119, while the blue team suffered a £70 loss. Viewers expressed disbelief on social media, with comments such as 'Wow...I don't see the appeal of that brooch' and 'And they always say, never buy chipped enamel'.
Bargain Hunt airs weekdays at 12:15pm on BBC One.
