The dramatic semi-final episode of The Apprentice 2026 has concluded, with recruiting consultant Pascha Myhill and beauty brand owner Karishma Vijay securing their places as the two finalists. This pivotal episode, which aired on Thursday night, saw the remaining five candidates subjected to grueling interviews with Lord Sugar's business associates, leading to the elimination of Dan Miller, Lawrence Rosenberg, and Priyesh Bathia.
The Interview Process: A Brutal Assessment
All five semi-finalists faced intense scrutiny as their business plans were meticulously examined and even blind tested by Lord Sugar's trusted advisors. For some candidates, this process did not proceed as hoped, with their proposals being pulled apart and criticized. This rigorous evaluation ultimately determined who would advance to the final stage of the competition.
Eliminated Candidates Reflect on Their Journeys
Lawrence Rosenberg, whose AI-powered PR agency business plan faced particular scrutiny during interviews, shared his thoughts after being fired. "Incredible - it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience," he stated. "I'm going home having been a part of every episode. That's an amazing achievement and an honour in itself."
Rosenberg did express one regret regarding his interview performance. "I'm not a big one for regrets, but I do wish I'd pushed back more on the AI accusations," he confessed. "My business plan was written by a human, and I have over 100 hours' worth of logs to prove it. Obviously, with it being an AI-powered PR agency, there were elements where we leaned on AI for support - but that's the whole point of AI."
Dan Miller, who also exited the competition at this stage, expressed pride in his achievement. "I feel immensely proud to have made it to the final five," he said. "My interviews went so well, and it was a fantastic validation for me to know the business I have built up over the years is really good."
Miller added a practical perspective on the interview experience: "The highlight for me was getting to the final five - having my business plan grilled by Lord Sugar's experts was incredible. Probably saved me about £100k in consulting fees. I took all their feedback on board and have implemented most of it at my company, Young Professionals."
Priyesh Bathia acknowledged the disappointment of falling just short of the final. "It's obviously disappointing to come this far in The Apprentice and fall just short of the final," he admitted. "You invest so much time, energy, and belief into the process, so getting fired at this stage does sting."
Despite this setback, Bathia maintained a positive outlook. "I'm incredibly proud of how far I got. It's a huge milestone and a massive achievement for me, and something I'll always look back on with pride. I've learned a huge amount about business, about resilience and about myself and I'll take that forward."
The Finalists' Business Plans
Pascha Myhill's business proposal centers on establishing a recruitment company specializing in private healthcare, while Karishma Vijay seeks investment to "elevate her current business." Both finalists will now prepare for the ultimate challenge of the competition.
The Road to the Final
The eliminated trio follow in the footsteps of Kieran McCartney and Rothna Akhtar, who departed the competition the previous week under dramatic circumstances. McCartney made headlines when he struck a "win or walk" agreement with Lord Sugar after landing on the losing team in a live shopping channel task.
"I've been project manager twice on the same task," McCartney declared during that episode. "If I stay in this process, I would like to be the project manager on task 10 to prove to you what I can do. If I lose, we shake hands, I walk out." Lord Sugar granted this request with a warning, but McCartney ultimately lost the subsequent pet lifestyle brand challenge and walked away from the competition as promised.
Rothna Akhtar, who confessed to a fear of animals during that same task, was also fired alongside McCartney. Reflecting on her exit, she said: "It was disappointing in that immediate moment, but it wasn't a complete shock because I was standing against Dan, who I knew had a really good business. I was in shock because I was so close to the final five and I just felt this wave of disappointment."
The Final Challenge Approaches
Next week's episode will see Pascha Myhill and Karishma Vijay join forces with some of their former co-stars to bring their business plans to life. They will present their ideas to leading experts as well as former Apprentice contestants who have previously faced similar challenges.
The culmination of this process will see both finalists head to the boardroom one final time to determine who will win a 50/50 partnership with Lord Sugar, along with a substantial £250,000 investment into their business. This high-stakes finale promises to deliver the dramatic conclusion that has become synonymous with The Apprentice franchise.
As the competition reaches its climax, both finalists will need to demonstrate not only the viability of their business proposals but also their ability to withstand the intense pressure that has characterized this season of The Apprentice. The journey that began with numerous candidates has now narrowed to just two contenders vying for Lord Sugar's investment and partnership.
