Prince Harry has made a series of sensational claims in his memoir Spare, including an allegation that his brother, Prince William, physically attacked him during an argument about Meghan Markle. The book, which went on sale early in Spain, has been obtained by BBC News.
Harry writes that William grabbed him by the collar, ripped his necklace, and knocked him to the floor at his London cottage. The altercation allegedly occurred after William described Meghan as "difficult", "rude", and "abrasive". Harry says he landed on a dog bowl, which cracked under his back, cutting him.
Other claims in the book include that Harry and William urged their father not to marry Camilla, now Queen Consort. Harry also describes a meeting with a woman who claimed to have 'powers', who told him that his late mother, Diana, said he was living the life she wanted for him.
Harry recounts his father, King Charles, waking him to break the news of Diana's death, and notes that Charles did not hug him. He also writes about replicating the car journey Diana made in Paris before her death, which left him questioning the official cause.
The memoir includes an account of Harry losing his virginity at age 17 to an older woman in a field behind a pub, describing it as a "humiliating" experience. Additionally, Harry claims that William and Catherine laughed when he wore a Nazi uniform to a fancy dress party in 2005.
Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace have both declined to comment on the book's contents.
