Prince William has shared how Scotland provided him with comfort and solace after the death of his mother, Princess Diana, in 1997. Speaking at the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Earl of Strathearn recalled that he was at the Balmoral estate in Aberdeenshire when he learned of the car accident in Paris that claimed her life.
In his address, the Prince said the Scottish countryside helped him cope with his grief, offering a place of peace during his saddest moments. He also highlighted happier memories associated with Scotland, including his time studying at the University of St Andrews, pilot training in Inverness, and family barbecues with the Duke of Edinburgh.
