Tilly Ramsay returned to ITV's This Morning on Friday, August 21, to showcase her culinary skills and offered another glimpse into life in the kitchen with her famously fiery father, Gordon Ramsay.
The 24-year-old television cook and social media personality prepared a one-pot lemon chicken orzo for presenters Angela Scanlon and Joel Dommett. During the segment, Joel suggested Gordon must be incredibly proud to see his daughter follow in his culinary footsteps.
Tilly and Gordon's Competitive Kitchen Dynamic
Tilly agreed that the pair are "super close" but admitted their time together in the kitchen can sometimes become competitive. "We're quite funny in the kitchen together because we're both control freaks," she explained, according to the Mirror.
Tilly went on to reveal that Gordon has a habit of stepping in at the most important moment and taking some of the credit for dishes she has prepared. "We always want to do the same thing," she said, explaining that she might do all the preparation and make the salads before her dad takes over at the final stage.
Gordon's Credit-Taking Habit
Using steak as an example, Tilly said Gordon will sometimes come in, cook the meat and then present it to the family as though he had made the whole dish. Joel couldn't resist teasing her about the situation, saying: "Stealing all of your glory, I love that!"
"Literally!" Tilly replied.
Previous Live TV Swear Blunder
The playful exchange comes after Gordon himself found himself in an awkward live TV moment on This Morning earlier this year. Back in January, Gordon and Tilly both appeared together on the ITV show to share their cooking expertise.
The chef was taking part in a cooking segment when he accidentally swore after knocking over a container of soy sauce. Presenter Ben Shephard quickly stepped in to apologise to viewers, while Gordon attempted to insist that he had said "shoot" instead.
Attempting to soothe the situation, Ben said: "Just in case that spilled into the classic Ramsay work, apologies. We are live. I'm just pre-empting a strike." Gordon argued back: "I said shoot! Ben - come on, Ben!"
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
