Teabag on Masked Singer 'exposed' as Royal Mike Tindall

Viewers of ITV's popular singing competition The Masked Singer believe they have already unmasked one of the new season's most intriguing contestants, with speculation pointing directly at a member of the royal family.

Royal Rugby Star Rumoured Behind the Mask

The show's seventh series launched on Saturday 3 January 2026, introducing a fresh batch of disguised celebrities. During the episode broadcast on Sunday 4 January, a character named Teabag took to the stage, performing a rendition of Deep Blue Something's 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'.

Almost immediately, fans on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, began sharing a compelling theory. Many are convinced the voice and clues belong to former England rugby union player Mike Tindall, who is married to Zara Tindall, the King's niece.

Social Media Buzz and Fan Theories

The online speculation was swift and decisive. One viewer posted: "Teabag: I know this may sound wild, but could it be Mike Tindall (Rugby player, and married to Zara Phillips)". This sentiment was quickly echoed by others, with one replying their husband had the same thought, and a third stating firmly: "Teabag... I think that's Mike Tindall's voice!"

The show's panel, consisting of Maya Jama, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, and Mo Gilligan, have their work cut out for them if the viewers' hunch is correct. Teabag was one of several new characters introduced, including Conkers, Arctic Fox, Monkey Business, Toastie, and Yak.

More Masked Mystery with a Celebrity Band

This season has added an extra layer of intrigue with the introduction of The Masked Singer Band. The band, named the Antarctic Funkeys, features a lead singer whose identity is also concealed behind a mask.

In the same episode, the lead singer of the band, Emperor Penguin, was revealed to be comedy legend Matt Lucas, famed for Little Britain. This reveal has only fuelled excitement for what other famous faces might be hiding under the elaborate costumes this series.

The Masked Singer continues to be a major ratings draw for ITV and is available to stream on ITVX for those wanting to catch up on the royal speculation.
