Big Brother host Will Best has announced the birth of his first child, a baby boy, in a heartfelt social media post. The 41-year-old media personality, currently competing on the BBC series Strictly Come Dancing, revealed he was expecting his first child with partner Tobi Rose ahead of the show's debut last month.
Hospital video announcement
In a video from the hospital, the new dad said: 'I got this really cool new thing today. Lots of people get'em but they are pretty cool.' He then panned down to a sleeping baby in his arms as he beamed to the camera in disbelief.
He shared photos of the baby with mum Rosie, in his cot, in his carrier, and a final video of himself falling asleep from sheer exhaustion.
Name reveal and partner's joke
In the caption, he wrote: 'Well who do we have here then?! Welcome to the world Sonny Best, you little smasher. Tobi Rose, you're a miracle and I love you so much. A couple of tired new parents (see last slide) but oh my goodness aren't we lucky xxx'
Partner Tobi appeared to address his Strictly return with a cheeky comment: 'What's worse Will Best, a new born baby and no sleep, learning the jive on no sleep OR learning the jive at the same time as having a new born baby AND no sleep?'
Celebrity congratulations
Congratulations came from friends and fans. His Strictly pro-partner Dianne Buswell, who welcomed her own baby with Joe Sugg last year, wrote: 'Yay, I'm so happy for you and Tobi and Bowie is so excited to meet little Sonny.'
Strictly host Josh Widdicombe commented: 'Holy moly!!!! Congratulations mate!' Zoe Ball celebrated: 'Welcome Sonny, congratulations to you all.' Fleur East declared: 'Awww yay!!! Welcome Sonny Best! So excited for you! Congratulations to you and Tobi. Hope you're all doing well. Go and smash it on that ballroom floor for your little family!' Tyler West praised: 'Congratulations boyo' and Oti Mabuse added: 'Omggggggggggggggg congratulations.'
There will likely be more celebrations when he returns to the dancefloor this Saturday.
