Strictly's Will Best: House move is 'worst thing we've ever done'

Strictly Come Dancing star Will Best has revealed that he is taking on a major move with his pregnant partner, branding it the "worst thing we've ever done", as he continues rehearsals for the BBC One dance contest.

The TV and radio host, who is still presenting the current series of Big Brother on ITV alongside AJ Odudu, is among the 15 celebrities taking part in Strictly Come Dancing. He was recently paired with professional dancer Dianne Buswell for the series.

First performance and scores

Strictly went live for the first time on Saturday, September 26, with Will and Dianne tasked with opening week one of the competition. All 15 celebrities and their professional partners performed a full routine in front of the judges – Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke – for the first time.

They performed a samba to Rock DJ by Robbie Williams, receiving 18 points out of a possible 40. With no public vote or elimination in the first week, Will and Dianne have returned to the training room to prepare their next routine for the Movie Week special on Saturday, October 3.

Revealing the house move

Ahead of their next performance – a Foxtrot to Old School Rock & Roll from the film Risky Business – comedian and presenter Abi Clarke, who is hosting a new Strictly spin-off, Lights Up, alongside Tyler West, caught up with Will and Dianne. During the chat, the celebrity contestant revealed he is taking on a big move away from the famous ballroom.

"I think it's the worst thing we've ever done," Will admitted when Abi pointed out that he and his partner, Tobi Rose, are moving house. "We've moved into a building site, and I wasn't prepared for how much of a building site it is. But, who needs lights? Who needs things like chairs?"

When Abi said: "You won't get furniture until you're out of this competition..." Dianne quipped: "Don't worry, in a couple of weeks you'll have furniture!"

Expecting first child

The news comes after Will revealed that he and Tobi are expecting their first child, having shared the news in a post to Instagram recapping his summer ahead of his Strictly debut. He has been in a relationship with his fiancée, Tobi Rose, for almost 15 years, and he asked the stylist to marry him during a romantic getaway to Italy in 2024.

Will, 41, made the announcement among a series of snaps from a holiday to Sicily, rehearsing for his upcoming stint in the dancing competition and other glimpses at his life over the past few weeks in his "summer dump". Among the images, he shared a mirror selfie with his fiancée, his hand on her growing baby bump peeking through her flowy polka-dot outfit, which he captioned: "Baby, Will?!"
