Prior to this year's Strictly commencing, Ray had expressed backing for his daughter Jaime, alongside Danny's daughter Dani. He had featured on The One Show to discuss the new series of The Gentlemen, when presenter Clara Amfo began: "Ray we've got to talk about your darling girl Jaime, everyone loves Jaime, great actor, we've loved her in roles like Babs, and now she's taking on a new role this September, she's hitting that Strictly dancefloor."
Ray responded: "I don't know who is more nervous, her or me? It's kind of new, she can dance anyway, but when you have to learn to dance with other people in routines, that's what she's worried about. But the great thing is, she'll be as fit as a butcher's dog." He subsequently joked: "So maybe I should have a go..." Alex Jones answered: "I reckon they'll have you in a heartbeat."
Ray proceeded to express his backing for Dani Dyer, the daughter of his dear friend Danny Dyer. He remarked: "Two good kids, I hope she does well, I hope they both do well. Little Danny is a good boy and all." Clara contributed: "We love them both." The Strictly Come Dancing results show airs from 7.10pm on Sunday on BBC One and iPlayer, while the competition continues next Saturday at 6.30pm.
