The Duchess of Edinburgh has made a surprise radio appearance, recalling a personal family memory of watching the Team GB women's hockey team win gold at the Rio Olympics.
A teaser clip of the pre-recorded conversation on BBC Radio 5 Live was shared on Tuesday, showing the duchess remembering how she watched the final on television at Balmoral Castle with the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
Royal holiday tradition
It is believed the duchess was close to her mother-in-law and father-in-law. She would likely have been enjoying a summer holiday at Balmoral, as the royals do every year.
The appearance marks 10 years since the Team GB women's hockey team secured gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
