Welsh West End star Sophie Evans has announced she is expecting her third child with her husband, former rugby player Ellis Jenkins. Known for her performances in musicals like Wicked and The Wizard of Oz, Sophie took to Instagram to share the news.
Family announcement
Sophie and Ellis already share two sons, Jack, born in December 2022, and Louie, born in April 2025, and are now due to add a third child to the mix. The couple, who first dated as teenagers, announced the news in a post on Instagram, captioned: "Louie's ready for his promotion! We can't wait to meet you."
The accompanying video showed three-year-old Jack placing a 'big bro' cap on his brother Louie's head, to match the cap he was already wearing. Their famous parents then jumped into the video holding a copy of a baby scan.
Fan reactions
Sophie followed up the post with an Instagram story, thanking fans for all the well wishes. The singer and actress shared a selfie from bed and wrote: "Thanks so much for all the love today! We are thrilled to bits. Can't wait to share so far. I have wanted to scream it. I have been soooo tired."
Sophie and Ellis announced their engagement in 2021 before marrying the following June. The pair opted for an intimate ceremony in Cardiff before heading to Ibiza for a larger celebration in 2024. They were joined on the Spanish island by family and friends, including several of Jenkins' former teammates, for "week-long celebrations", with their then 18-month-old son Jack also in tow.
Their journey
The pair first met when they were both just 18 years old, and their bond has only grown stronger since. Speaking to WalesOnline in the past, Sophie shared that despite their deep connection, the formidable duo had faced their fair share of challenges. "When we were about 23 or 24, we went separate ways for just over a year and then realised, 'you are the love of my life' and we are meant to be together. The rest is history," she recalled. Their reunion only reaffirmed their commitment to one another, and they've been inseparable ever since.
