The second royal wedding of 2026 is just days away, following the marriage of Princess Anne's son last weekend. Lady Marina Windsor and Nico Macauley are set to tie the knot on June 20, according to their wedding registry, stirring excitement among royal fans.
Lady Marina's Royal Connection
Lady Marina is the granddaughter of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, who is the late Queen Elizabeth II's first cousin. She is the daughter of the Earl and Countess of St Andrews. The royal announced her engagement on Instagram last June with a simple caption: "Very happy."
Congratulations Pour In
Her brother, Lord Downpatrick, joked: "So the hazing begins." Her sister Lady Amelia Windsor commented: "Yippeeee!" More than 5,000 people reacted to the engagement news on an Instagram fan account called The Windsors Family.
Special Date for the Wedding
The couple revealed their engagement on June 8, a date with special significance as it was the wedding anniversary of her grandparents, the Duke and Duchess of Kent.
Line to the Throne
Until 2008, Lady Marina was 25th in line to the throne, but she forfeited her place to be confirmed into the Roman Catholic Church, along with her elder brother. Her younger sister, Lady Amelia, has not converted and remains in the line of succession.
Peter Phillips' Wedding
The upcoming wedding comes within weeks of Peter Phillips' marriage to Harriet Sperling on June 6. Princess Anne's son has been married once before and has two daughters with his ex-wife, Autumn Phillips. The couple divorced in June 2021.
A statement regarding the wedding read: "Mr Peter Phillips, the son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips and Ms Harriet Sperling... have today announced their wedding date. The summer wedding will take place at All Saints Church, Kemble, Cirencester, on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in a private ceremony."
