Sarah Ferguson is tipped to pull off one of her "most incredible" comebacks yet, according to royal author Phil Dampier, following the Jeffrey Epstein scandal that cost her royal title.
The former Duchess of York has stayed out of the public eye since the King stripped her of her title last year, after details emerged of her association with the disgraced US financier and convicted paedophile. She appeared to have remained close to Epstein even after he was convicted for soliciting minors and after she had publicly distanced herself from him.
Ferguson and her ex-husband lost their titles and honours and were forced to leave Royal Lodge, where they had lived for nearly 20 years. She has not been seen in public since late last year, prompting speculation among royal watchers over whether she would ever tell her side of the story.
Author backs a comeback
Phil Dampier, a royal author, has now claimed that Ferguson will most likely reemerge in one form or another. He told the Daily Mail that she could soon try to tell "her side of the story" and attempt to get back in with the King "for the sake of her daughters," Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
Dampier said: "It’s quite extraordinary how Sarah Ferguson bounces back time and time again. She has had more comebacks than Frank Sinatra and it looks like she may pull off her most incredible yet."
A plan to reinvent herself
He added that Ferguson has had "a lot of time to think" about her next moves in recent months, and that she would most likely have a plan to "reinvent" herself in one way or another. However, Dampier said it is less likely she will release a bombshell memoir, in order to preserve a good relationship with the King.
"I think it’s less likely she will write yet another autobiography and spill the beans on the royals," he explained. "And she will want to try and get back in with the King for the sake of her daughters, or at least not upset Charles."
"Fergie still has her fans, and you can never write her off," Dampier concluded.
