Sarah Ferguson has reportedly received a seven-figure offer for an explosive autobiography. The news comes days after Princess Diana’s brother Earl Spencer released his bombshell book on his late sister, which contains several unflattering allegations about other royals, including King Charles.
Earl Spencer’s book sparks controversy
The Earl has sparked controversy after it emerged he makes a series of claims about the King in Swan Song: Diana, My Sister – including that Charles said “we’ll forget her soon enough” after she died – which has prompted a war of words between him and Buckingham Palace.
Buckingham Palace’s response to the claims was: “While we do not comment on books as a matter of principle, His Majesty is mindful that the pain of fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and colour memory in ways others do not recognise, even many years after such a loss.”
Despite the astounding claims, Spencer has insisted that his book is simply a telling of the truth, and was not destined to be a ‘hit piece’ against the monarch or the Royal Family.
Earl Spencer said: “This book is a celebration of an extraordinary woman from a brother’s point of view. And as a brother, I have every right to write about my sister. But I would like to explain that I was not setting out to do a hit piece on the King at all. The comments [from Charles] that I’ve included in the book are totally in context.”
Fergie’s memoir deal close
Sources told The Sun Sarah Ferguson is “days away” from making a deal with her autobiography. They say a chapter-by-chapter synopsis has been written with detailed notes on “key subjects” which reportedly may include her thoughts on ex Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Jeffrey Epstein, the King, Harry and Meghan.
Insiders insist Fergie is “on a mission” to rescue her reputation. One source said: “Sarah wants to set the record straight about everything and earn some money to resolve her financial issues. There has been a secret bidding war and a deal is close to being secured. The notes are compelling and the bidders are excited. Fergie is ever the optimist and believes she can be forgiven and welcomed back.”
Emails released by US officials, as part of the Epstein Files, revealed several emails between Fergie and Epstein and shed new light on their relationship. Ferguson has strongly denied all wrongdoing.
Fergie twice went to see Epstein during his prison sentence for child sex offences, and a third plan to meet up fell through. An email sent to Fergie on March 26, seen by the Mirror, references various communications between her and Epstein, including ones in which she called him “a legend” and wrote “Just marry me”.
The former Duchess of York and her ex-husband were ousted from their home at Royal Lodge, with Fergie leaving for Europe as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor moved to a new property.
Back in April 2026 Fergie’s representative did not respond to the Mirror when asked about a possible memoir. The Mirror has contacted representatives for Sarah Ferguson for comment.
