Discoloured Hands and Makeup
American journalist Aaron Rupar remarked on his physical condition via X. Posting photographs, he observed how discoloured the president's hand appeared before commenting: "Yikes: Trump's hands - both of them - are looking rough tonight." Detailed images of the leader's hands reveal them as discoloured and apparently caked in makeup. The right hand particularly seems to be coated from wrist to fingertips in concealing cosmetics, while only a minor area of skin appears covered on his left hand.
Ongoing Scrutiny of Trump's Health
Trump's wellbeing remains under the microscope throughout his second presidency, including regarding bruising visible on his hands and puffiness around his ankles. Nevertheless, a doctor has declared him to be in "excellent health".
Speech and Bald Eagle Gift
Additional worries emerged when the president addressed attendees inside the White House during the state dinner. The US president welcomed visitors, discussing the "long history" between China and the US before presenting Xi with a bald eagle statue. "The bald eagle is a national symbol of the United States and an embodiment of the free and soaring spirit of America," Trump declared. "We hope it'll find a nice place, a wonderful place in Beijing."
Eyes Closing During Interpreter Pauses
Given the guest list and Xi's limited English, Trump would pause after delivering several portions of his speech to allow an interpreter to read aloud a translated version. During these intervals, Trump remained at the lectern somewhat uncomfortably, frequently seeming to shut his eyes. This marks another instance where the president has been observed closing his eyes during a significant event. It has been documented on multiple occasions that the 80 year old 'dozes off' while in meetings.
