Ruth Langsford Italy trip amid Eamonn Holmes reports

Ruth Langsford has jetted off on a girls' trip to Italy amid reports that her ex-husband Eamonn Holmes' girlfriend Katie Alexander has moved out of his flat. Alexander, 45, is said to be "devastated" after clearing her things from Holmes' £1.3 million rented property in Surrey last week while he recovers from a stroke.

Lavish trip to Amalfi coast and Ischia

GB News host Holmes, 66, has been in hospital since having a stroke in April and his family are said to be handling his finances in the "incredibly sad" situation. Amid the upheaval, Langsford headed to the Amalfi coast and Ischia with her best friend, A Place In The Sun presenter Lucy Alexander.

The Loose Women star - who split from Holmes in 2024 after 27 years together - was seen having champagne at the airport and going on wine tastings during the lavish trip. Langsford and Alexander shared a joint video on Instagram of their raucous travels, joking that they were like "girls on tour" as they took in the sights in Positano and Capri.

'A dream week with my bestie'

"A dream week with my bestie ( Ruth Langsford ) exploring the Amalfi coast & Ischia! We loved visiting pretty picture postcard Positano & stopping at Capri ! A destination we'd both always dreamed of visiting," Alexander penned.

"Our first time experiencing the charms of the Italian coast. Ruth's hates boats for starters so I knew I had my work cut out when I saw our itinary a ferry & hydrofoils over to other islands.

"A Wine tasting afternoon visiting the vineyards, tasting the grapes, visiting the historic under ground cellars with barrels carved into the rock followed by a delicious lunch ...all set in the high hills of beautiful Forore with views of the stunning coastline."

She went on: "We laughed SO much along the way, met some wonderful people & practiced our Italian ... the most perfect high energy sight seeing trip ( and this film is only part 1 as the ischia trip is coming ...) "Ruthy my wingwoman you really are my perfect travel buddy - we had a lot of wine, food & laughs in equal measure & I hope we can do it all again soon."

Langsford commented on the clip: "The most AMAZING trip! I've always wanted to go to the Italian Riviera and it didn't disappoint. Lucy you're the BEST travel companion…thanks for all the laughs and all the Limoncellos!"

On Wednesday morning they shared another video, this time from their next stop-off point in Ischia. Alexander filmed them on a boat trip on the second leg of their journey and praised the "stunning volcanic beaches, thermal springs and beautiful charming towns" in the area.

Katie Alexander moves out of flat

The trip comes just days after it was reported that Alexander has left Holmes' flat, which he has been renting since his split from Langsford. The mother-of-three and relationship counsellor lives in West Yorkshire but has been splitting her time between there and the Surrey flat, the Sun on Sunday reported. It is unclear where Holmes will live when he leaves hospital, according to the outlet.

A source told the paper: "Katie is still very much together with Eamonn and in love, but she's moved out of the flat.

"It's an incredibly sad situation — she loved it there and the time they spent together making it home. Katie has been Eamonn's rock and lifeline since he fell ill. She's willing him to get back to full fitness and get their lives back on track."

Holmes met Alexander online and they began a relationship following his split from Langsford, whom he is in the process of divorcing. He previously called her the "perfect tonic" during his health struggles. Questions have been raised over whether Eamonn will return to work at GB News.

Holmes' health struggles

Holmes had suffered a series of live mishaps on the breakfast show in the months before his stroke, including falling off his chair and reportedly falling asleep - although he denied this happened. He was hospitalised after he was reportedly found "slumped and out cold" at his home.

"He is currently responding well to treatment. Eamonn has asked for privacy as he focuses on getting better," GB News said at the time. "His colleagues and everyone at GB News wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming him back to the people's channel when he is ready to return."

Holmes shared a message from his hospital bed in April, posting a photo of his two granddaughters with a handmade "Get well soom[sic]" card for him. He captioned the post: "As my beautiful granddaughters put it so well - I will do my best to get well SOON. Thank you for all of your many many good wishes, they give me strength."

The former This Morning presenter has endured numerous health problems in the past few years, and recently revealed dealing with illness and mobility issues have been "horrendous". Holmes underwent a double hip replacement in 2016. Five years later, he suffered three slipped discs and a dislocated pelvis. The presenter later had spinal surgery and his ongoing mobility issues mean he now often uses a walker or wheelchair.
