Royal Family 'to wash hands' of Sussex scandal, expert claims

The Royal Family is expected to "wash their hands" of the scandal surrounding Meghan Markle's father, Thomas Markle Sr., following the latest allegations. The Firm is tipped to completely distance itself from the drama after Mr Markle was accused of possessing a collection of child pornography. He denies all allegations.

Palace 'not expected to intervene'

Speaking to Page Six, royal expert Andrea Caamano claimed that the monarchy will not be stepping into the fray. She said: "Despite Harry and Meghan's return to the UK, relations remain complicated, and I don't see the Palace wanting to become involved in matters concerning Meghan's father. I don't anticipate the Royal Family becoming involved in this situation."

Caamano added that the King will be incredibly busy during his tour in the Caribbean, while the Prince of Wales will head to India for his Earthshot Prize Awards.

Focus on royal duties

The commentator concluded: "Ultimately, I think the King and the Prince and Princess of Wales will continue doing what they do best: concentrating on their royal duties and the work ahead of them. I wouldn't expect any public intervention from the royal family in this particular matter."
