A young cousin of Princes William and Harry has been found dead at her family home with a firearm nearby, an inquest has heard. Rosie Roche, 20, was discovered by her mother and sister on 14 July at her childhood home in Norton, Wiltshire, after she had been packing to go away with friends.
An inquest into the death of the Durham University student opened at Wiltshire and Swindon Coroner's Court and was adjourned until 25 October. Coroner Grant Davies said police had deemed the death as non-suspicious and there was no third-party involvement.
Ms Roche was the eldest child of Edmund Hugh Burke Roche, 53, and his wife Phillipa Katie Victoria Long. Her grandfather was the 5th Baron Fermoy, Princess Diana's uncle, who died by suicide from a gunshot at Eddington House in Hungerford, Berkshire in 1984.
A spokesman for the family said Ms Roche “will be sorely missed”. No further details about the circumstances of her death have been released.
