Prince Josef-Emanuel and Princess Claudia of Liechtenstein have announced the surprise birth of their second child, a son named Nikolai, who was born last month. The couple shared the news via an Instagram post, revealing the infant's name and releasing several photographs.
In one image, baby Nikolai is seen sleeping in a knitted yellow cardigan, while another shows him wrapped in a blanket with his name stitched on it. A third picture captures the newborn cradled by his mother, Princess Claudia. The couple already have a son named Leopold, born after their marriage in 2022.
Prince Josef-Emanuel is the son of Prince Nikolas of Liechtenstein, brother of the reigning monarch Prince Hans-Adam, and Princess Margaretha of Luxembourg, sister of Grand Duke Henri. He moved to the UK in his youth, attending Sandhurst's Royal Military Academy and later serving with the Irish Guards. In 2010, he presented the regiment's flag to the late Queen at Trooping the Colour.
Princess Claudia, known as Cloclo, is a Colombian socialite. The couple married in a lavish ceremony in Cartagena in 2022, attended by several royals, including Queen Camilla's niece, Ayesha Shand.
